International cooperation in the fields of education and culture has been strongly developing , creating the positive impacts to the social – economic development of East and West corrider of 3 countries of Viet Nam, Laos and Thailand. To investigate the data of international cooperation in higher education, on the morning of February 20th, 2008, the research team of Nakhon Phanom and Khon Kean Universities visited and had a working session at Quang Binh University.
Participating in this session, on the Nakhon Phanom University side, there were Assoc Prof. Dr. Suwit Laohasiriwong – President with 8 accompanied staffs. On the Quang Binh University side, there were Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huynh Phan with all lecturers, staffs and students, especially, 18 Laotian students who are learning at Quang Binh University are also presented. Besides, there were some representatives of related branches and press reporters.
At the working, Assoc Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huynh Phan proposed the action plans in the coming years to Nakhon Phanom University such as continuing the implementation of cooperative clauses between two Institutions signed in memorandum, sending more 25 students to learn in the member colleges, exchanging the training programs, science research and lecturers…
On behalf of the delegation of Nakhon Phanom University, Assoc Prof. Dr. Suwit Laohasiriwong expressed his gratitude to the warm welcome of Quang Binh University and confirmed the good relationship between two Institutions established during last time as well as showed his support and was ready to receive new students coming to learn.
In the scope of the working session, the research team got data of international cooperation in higher education through interviewing some lecturers and issuing the questionnaire for objects of study as 18 Laotian students, 75 first year English students of English Department, 75 Economic Management students of Social – Economic –Tourism Department. Quang Binh University cooperated and satisfied requirements of research team so that the process of getting data can be carried out effectively and propitiously.
